Poliglecaprone Monofilament suture

Poliglecaprone Monofilament Suture is a fast-absorbing, synthetic absorbable suture ideal for soft tissue approximation where short-term support is sufficient. It offers excellent pliability, smooth handling, and minimal tissue reaction—ensuring precision and safety in delicate procedures.

Description

Poliglecaprone Monofilament Suture is made from a copolymer of glycolide and ε-caprolactone, engineered for optimal performance in surgical wound closure. As a synthetic, absorbable, monofilament suture, it provides superior knot security, reduced tissue drag, and smooth passage through tissues—making it an ideal solution for surgeries requiring fine suturing with low risk of infection or inflammation.

This suture retains about 60% of its tensile strength at one week and 30% at two weeks, with full absorption completed within 90 to 120 days via hydrolysis. Its rapid absorption profile makes it particularly suited for subcuticular closures, gynecological, plastic, and pediatric surgeries, where quick healing is expected.

The monofilament construction reduces the chances of bacterial adherence, enhancing post-operative safety, especially in procedures involving clean-contaminated or contaminated wounds.

Key Features:
